CDR-1340: SR Set: Major Religions: Buddhism

Buddhism, offering a path of personal spiritual development, arose from Siddhartha Gautama's (who became Buddha) quest for enlightenment around the 6th century BC in India. His image represents the embodiment of spirituality in the visible domain. Earliest Buddhist depictions documented aspects of his life, which later progressed to youthful personifications showing Greco-Roman influences, and culminated in the Golden Age of Buddha, radiating the spiritual aura of Buddha. This image set is organized by time and location, starting in India (including Pakistan and Afghanistan); progressing to China; Korea and Japan; Nepal and Tibet; Southeast Asia (including Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Indonesia); and ends with modern depictions of Buddha.
