About Davis Art Images

Davis Art Images, formerly Rosenthal Art Slides, has been providing high-quality images of fine art and architecture since the firm was founded by Dr. Julius Rosenthal in 1940. Davis Publications acquired Rosenthal Art Slides in 1995 and moved the company to Worcester, Massachusetts.

Davis has always oriented its new acquisitions to meet the needs of art historians and other teachers of art appreciation and art history. With a growing digital archive of fine art images and a commitment to the highest quality, the Davis digital archive is an essential tool in the teaching of art. The archive spans the history of art with strengths in American Art, Art of the Americas, and Contemporary Art and Architecture.

The Davis digital archive includes both museum originals and photography from independent scholars. The collection is an invaluable component in the comprehensive study of the history of art, and the backbone of any art department digital teaching collection.
