About Hartill Art Associates

Hartill Art Associates Inc., founded by Alec and Marlene Hartill, has been operative since 1977 providing high quality color images for Education purposes and Media alike. The HHA Archive of digital images available via Scholars Resource contains more than 16,000 high resolution images derived from original 35mm photography.

This archive includes thousands of details in the fields of architecture, sculpture and decorative arts (including Stained Glass, Mosaics, Wall Paintings). The collection truly offers an extensive resource of images ranging from Prehistoric to Contemporary periods, and also offers images of a more general nature suitable for Editorial or Illustrative needs such as Animals, Scenics, Transport and Travel, even Naval Architecture.

Architectural examples from Spain include Roman bridges, theatres, and amphitheatres. Islamic examples include Seville's Alcazar and Granada's Alhambra as well as structures in Toledo, Merida, and Cordoba. From Mexico he offers extensive coverage of the Mayan sites of Chichen Itza, Labnáand Tulum, and the Zapotec site of Monte Alban.
