Founded in 1966, Saskia Ltd. Cultural Documentation has a long, distinguished tradition of unfaltering integrity and continually demonstrates a firm commitment to quality, service and innovation. Our unmatched ability to deliver value via the highest quality images has earned high customer satisfaction levels.
Saskia continues to expand one of the largest and most important image archives for the teaching of art history. Our extensive collection includes important works from over one hundred museums, including the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, the Uffizi, the Prado, the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, the National Museums in Athens, Rome, and Stockholm, museums in Berlin, and American museums in San Francisco, Cleveland, and New York.
In addition to an emphasis on Ancient Greek and Roman art, paintings from Italy, Flanders, Holland, France, Germany, and Spain have been our main focus. These works provide an exceptional basis for the core Art History content required by every teaching institution and include detailed coverage allowing for in-depth analysis in seminars on the graduate level.
Our collection includes special unprecedented documentation of the interior of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome with extensive coverage of its papal monuments. Important archaeological sites are represented in the archive – including Ephesus, Pergamum, Delphi, and Mycenae. Photography of architectural monuments across Western Europe in cities large and small reflects the technical background and aesthetic appreciation Ron Wiedenhoeft brings to his work. Non-western coverage has expanded with the addition of extensive sites from the vast sub-continent of India to the ruins of the ancient Incan city of Machu Picchu in Peru and to architectural monuments in China and the Shanghai Museum.
